Pottstown Area Economic Development’s mission is to develop, coordinate and implement an overall economic development strategy for the Borough of Pottstown designed to stimulate investment which will maintain and enhance the tax base; retain and create job opportunities; and restore and utilize or remove under-utilized buildings.
POSITION: Full-Time Grants Manager
Pottstown Area Economic Development (PAED) seeks a full-time Grants Manager interested in supporting the work of Pottstown’s exciting economic development and revitalization efforts. The ideal candidate for this role should have superior organizational skills in addition to exceptional budgeting and monitoring skills. PAED wishes to employ a methodical and strategic grants manager to enhance funding models, identify new sources of funding and developing sustainable and effective grant programs for our organization and the Pottstown business community at large. The Grants Manager will be responsible for compliance with all federal, state, local and private grants in ensuring all deliverables and conditions are met including monitoring of any sub-grantees. The successful candidate will be working directly with the Executive Director.
Job Responsibilities:
• Research funding opportunities
• Identify support agencies
• Complete grant applications for the organization and sub-grantees
• Optimize the grant administration process
• Manage timelines and deliverables
• Prepare and monitor budgets
• Track grant applications
• Develop and modify reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Oversee funding contracts to ensure that documentation and requirements are met
• Ensure sub-grantees monitoring procedures are compliant with applicable regulations and are consistent with sound business practices
• Provide guidance to the Executive Director and PAED’s Board on interpreting and executing applicable regulations and sub-grantee award terms and conditions
• Monitor sub-grantees compliance with the requirements of their agreements with PAED and recommend actions necessary to resolve any issues/concerns
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2 years experience with grant writing
• Minimum of 3 years experience with grant accounting experience
• Outstanding organizational skills with great attention to detail
• High level of independent thinking
• Strong writing skills
• Budgeting and accounting experience
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with set deadlines/guidelines
• Ability to manage a challenging work volume while maintaining quality standards
• Knowledge of grant making agencies
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and auditing software
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
Position requires ability to effectively communicate, compile and prepare work documents, and operate standard business equipment. Work is performed in a shared
office environment. At times there may be exposure to dust, dirt, and or construction hazards during external site visits.
