The business district is a regional commercial hub with a primary trade area drawing from three southeastern Pennsylvania counties – Montgomery, Chester, and Berks. Situated along the scenic Schuylkill River, the downtown is easily accessible from major highways including US 422 and PA 100. On street and off street parking is convenient and plentiful. The downtown is served by a municipally-owned Pottstown Area Rapid Transit (PART) bus system. The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) provides commuter bus service for Pottstown to Norristown.

Highway access, rail, water and sewer capacity, airports and a skilled industrial workforce are just some of the advantages Pottstown has to offer companies seeking to expand in our Borough.

Road Network
The Borough of Pottstown is located about an hour drive northwest of Philadelphia at the U.S. Route 422 and PA Route 100 interchange in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. The region is served by two expressways, four major arterials and four minor arterials.

Rail
Freight Norfolk Southern is the owner of the Harrisburg Line, a Class 1 railroad running along the Schuylkill River through Pottstown. The rail line is double stack capable. Norfolk Southern has made a significant investment in new intermodal facilities in Pottstown.

Airports
The Borough owns Pottstown Municipal Airport, a general service airport with a 2700 foot long runway. Nearby privately-owned Pottstown Limerick Airport has a 3400 foot long runway. Philadelphia International Airport is a one hour drive from Pottstown.

Utilities
The capacity of Pottstown’s wastewater treatment plant was upgraded to 15.6 million gallons per day in 1992. The Pottstown Sewer Authority currently has a large capacity surplus. The Borough’s source of water is the Schuylkill River. The water treatment plant is permitted for 8 million gallons per day. The plant currently provides an average of 4 – 5 million gallons of treated water to area homes and business per day. PECO provides electric and gas services to borough businesses.

Pottstown is committed to preparing a skilled workforce for the economy of tomorrow. The Borough of Pottstown is home to Montgomery County Community College’s Pottstown Campus and its Center for Workforce Development, a leading supplier of workforce development services.
