Pottstown Area Economic Development ‘s (PAED) Mission is to develop, coordinate and implement an overall economic development strategy for the Borough of Pottstown designed to stimulate investment which will enhance the tax base.

Pottstown Business Improvement District Management Association (PBIDMA) was formed in 2025 for the purpose of providing special consideration to a geographic area of the Borough to decrease vacancies and increase property values.  This is realized through the 4-point approach of transformative strategies established through the PA Downtown Center.

Main Street Manager and Marketing Specialist

PAED and the PBIDMA are hiring a full-time Main Street Manager and Marketing Specialist to be a part of Pottstown’s economic development and revitalization efforts. The successful candidate will be working directly with the Executive Director of PAED and the PBIDMA Board.

Job Responsibilities:

Manages all administrative aspects of the BID, including purchasing, record keeping, budget development and accounting

Schedules meetings, prepares agendas and takes minutes at BID Board Meetings

Builds strong relationships with the business owners and building owners within the BID, collaborating to bring strength to the commercial corridor.

Encourages a cooperative climate between downtown interests and local public officials

Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with community groups

Advises downtown businesses on program activities and goals.  Assists in the planning of BID events and coordination of joint promotional events, such as seasonal festivities or cooperative retail events in order to improve the quality and success of events to attract people to the downtown.

Develops and coordinates with PA Downtown the necessary components of having an official designation as a “Main Street Town” including record keeping and regular mandatory reporting.

Identifies and applies for grant opportunities for further enhancement of placemaking and architectural improvements within the BID Area.

Implement Physical Improvements in the Downtown

Manages service contracts including the current sidewalk cleaning services and lighting program.

Manage and Promote the Downtown Dollars Program

Posts content on social media platform

Monitors social media engagement and responds to direct messages and comments in a positive manner

Maintain a dedicated website for the BID.

Acts as the primary media contact in conjunction with the Executive Director of PAED

Drafts, edits, and distributes press releases in support of the BID and PAED

Compiles and edits organizational material for a variety of reports including the BID’s and PAED’s Annual Reports

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of Main Street or relevant experience
  • Experience with Non-profit and government organizations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while adhering to strict guidelines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, MailChimp, QuickBooks, Social Media Platforms, and WordPress, Digital Design Software
  • Available for occasional evenings and weekends

 

*Work is performed in a shared office environment and phone coverage may be necessary.
