Do you know someone who needs a place to stay while visiting Pottstown? Please recommend Pottstown’s own Bed and Breakfast, Three Daughter’s Inn, located at 1016 E. High Street.
Please meet Jay and Tracy Purdy, the owners of this quaint B & B. Jay is a physician of infectious disease and internal medicine who decided it was time for a change. He was offered the position as the Vice President of the Anti-Infectious Division of Pfizer and said yes. This allows him to work mostly from home, allowing him to support Tracy and her dream. They have three daughters, hence the name, and decided to name the guest rooms after them as well. They are Madison, Nicole and Jillian.
When I asked Tracy how she chose a bed and breakfast, she explained she was driving down E. High Street and saw a large house for sale. She thought to herself, that would make a great bed and breakfast. By the time she had reached the next light, she knew she had found what she wanted to do.
One of her first thoughts was it would be a great addition for the Hill School to offer to their parents, followed by anyone else who might need a place to stay for the weekend.
They found this home and decided to take a chance.
As the girls were getting older, Tracy made the decision to go back to school for her Master’s in City Planning. She mentioned, despite how difficult it was for her to keep up with her schoolwork as well as all of her family’s responsibilities, it allowed all of the girls to learn how to push through when school was hard, to reach their goals.
When I asked why she picked Pottstown, she explained:
For one of her student projects, she needed to work on a local community project. She chose Mosaic. This allowed her to meet our Pottstown community and get more involved with the local activities. She had found her happy place! She is currently on the Board of Mosaic and works closely with our churches and other non-profits.
As for her guests, turns out it’s not mostly Hill School parents. Their number one guest is someone visiting their family and friends in town. They don’t want to intrude by staying at their friends’ home, so they stay with the Purdy’s. The second “most popular” guest is the couple who wants a little getaway weekend. How great is that they are choosing Pottstown as their weekend away.
Three Daughters Inn is fully booked until November, so if you need a place to stay over the holidays, call now. Make sure you visit our Downtown while you’re here.
