Demolition Bidding Procedure

Pottstown Area Economic Development (PAED) is seeking a qualified, professional construction company for completion of the demolition of a 3-story residential building structure located at 323 King Street, within the Borough of Pottstown. These proposals should be consistent with current generally accepted demolition principals.

PAED reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any and or all bids.

This project must meet PA Department of Economic Development Blight Remediation Program requirements, to include:

  • Project Records – A full and accurate record of Daily Activity Logs with respect to the project and related parties shall be maintained and available upon request. The Authority requires access and the ability to inspect all work, invoices, materials, and relevant records.
  • Bidding Requirements – Applicants must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations dealing with bidding and procurement
  • Permits – Blight Remediation Program projects are required to secure all necessary planning and permit approvals for the project from federal, state, and local governments.
  • Bid Guaranty – Each bidder is required to furnish with its proposal a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond. Bid security furnished in Bond form, shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Pennsylvania to provide said surety.
  • All Persons – Each proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein.
  • Evidence of Experience – Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity. The owner intends and requires that this project be completed no later than June 30, 2023.
  • Procurement – All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will to the extent practicable use Pennsylvania products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of their project. Additionally, contractor compliance with the equal employment opportunity requirements of Pennsylvania is required.
  • Prevailing Wage – Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Montgomery County Pennsylvania as determined by the PA Department of Commerce.

Seeking proposals for Demolition of a 3-story residential building structure located at 323 King Street Pottstown PA, Contractor shall provide:

  • labor, site and safety management, tools, PPE, equipment, for demolition of a 3-story building licenses, permits, and insurance for personnel, equipment, parking, storage, transportation, demolition, cleanup, and waste disposal, wherever necessary
  • material waste removal for debris and substances generated through site preparation, demolition, and cleanup
  • Containment and control systems for hazards, dust, debris, fluids, runoff, contaminants, generated during site preparation, demolition, and cleanup
  • Site cleanup and finishing to include rough grade, seed and straw upon completion of demolition and waste removal
