“It’s my absolute pleasure…” This has been the typical response from Beverly’s Pastry Shop owner, Kristen Sirbak over the past eight years.
Since 2015 Kristen and her exceptionally trained and gifted staff have been creating bakery masterpieces. This year, at the end of December 2023, Beverly’s will close its doors, bringing an era to a bittersweet ending. Whether Kristen was leading her talented team of bakers and cake artists, helping a customer, or contributing to her community in some way… she has poured her heart into it, and the pleasure truly has been all hers.
As Kristen shares, “It was important to me to do this right… as right as I possibly could. To close the doors, yet make sure all of our customers and commitments are fulfilled, right up to the very end… To ensure my girls are in a good place with it all… to make sure we honor Beverly and this shop’s history. Making the decision was not simple, or easy, but very personal. I knew in my heart it was time…for many reasons. I don’t know exactly what comes next, but it has been amazing to carry on this tradition. It has been a Pottstown tradition for decades. Sometimes, it is time for old traditions to come to an end… so this can all be re-imagined… and I know my team and I are honoring the end in the best possible way… I am proud of that…and I am grateful to everyone for all their support as we say goodbye…”

Beverly’s Pastry Shop has been an award-winning local bakery in Pottstown for nearly 50 years. Beverly Nuzzo opened the shop on November 15, 1976. It was then owned by Larry and Annie Chen from 1991 to 2015. At the time of this press release, the recipes and the Beverly’s Pastry Shop name will remain with Kristen Sirbak.
