Through the generosity of Univest PAED is pleased to offer a one-time-only Microgrant to small businesses to assist with expansion and operating costs.

Small Businesses which meet the following criteria should apply:

The Business must be a for-profit entity.;

The Business entity can be sole proprietors, partnerships, LLP, LLC or corporations.;

Businesses must be legal, licensed, operating and based within the Borough of Pottstown.;

Businesses must have at least one (1) employee or more, which is the principal and owns the enterprise but no more than five (5) employees.  This includes both full-time and part-time employees.;

Gross revenue under $250,000 (as reported for 2023).;

Business must have been in operation before January 1, 2023 and still be in operation when submitting grant application.;

Business was the primary source of revenue for the business owner.;

Online and home-based businesses are not eligible to receive program funding.

Businesses must have physical commercial address within Pottstown Borough.

Required documents:

  • Government Issued Photo ID

(Drivers License, Passport, etc.)

  • Signed IRS Form W-9
  • Local business permit or license

Timeline:

Grant Application Open Date:                               February 15, 2024

Deadline for Application Submissions:               March 15, 2024

Review of Applications:                                          March 16-26, 2024

Notify Awardees:                                                      Within 30 days

Grant Funds Disbursement:                                   Within 60 days

Completed Projects Reports:                                 December 16, 2024

Eligible Uses for Funds: The awarded grants can be used for inventory, procurement of equipment, furniture, fixtures, machinery, marketing, working/operating capital – rent, utilities, business services (accounting, IT, website development).

Ineligible Uses of Funds: Funds are not permitted to be used for repayment of existing debt, payroll taxes, costs incurred prior to grant award, interest charges or finance changes, political or religious activities, lobbying any governmental entity.
